Hello,

During a meeting yesterday with one of my faculty clients, one of
the topics that came up pertained to a class that she's teaching this
summer. The class will have quizzes with a lot of mathematical
equations, in addition to submitting the answers (in WebCT), she would
like to devise a method for receiving the students' scratch papers to
see their work for each problem. This is a distance course. For the
types of characters required for the equations, the professor thinks
that it would be awkward to have them type their work, she'd prefer that
they hand write the work. She thought that they could fax the work paper
to her. I mentioned that they could scan them and then e-mail the files,
if they have access to a scanner. The professor inquired if anyone has
streamlined a process for this. I would like to know if anyone in the
NEWUG has any suggestions. She doesn't want the students to buy any
special equipment.

If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing them.

Thanks.
